A Journey through Time
This tour visits major Moroccan cities, Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis, Fes and Marrakech, includes hotel stays and guided tours of historical sites and landmarks.
Day 1 – Arrival Casablanca
After arriving in Casablanca, you will be greeted by a driver who will be holding a sign with our name on it and be taken to your hotel for the night. Welcome to Morocco
Day 2 – Casablanca
Meet your certified guide at 9:30am in the lobby of your hotel for a tour of the city of Casablanca. Founded in the 7th century by the Berbers, Casablanca is home to the third largest mosque in the world, the Hassan II Mosque, whose minaret reaches 210m (690ft) into the sky. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to see the modern and traditional influences of the city, including the Mohamed V Square, known for its neo-Moorish style architecture, the Central Market, the Habous District, the Royal Palace, and the Aïn Diab Corniche for a panoramic view of the city. The tour will end back at the hotel around noon, leaving the rest of the afternoon free for leisure.
Day 3 –Casablanca – Rabat
After breakfast, drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and the home of the king. Once you arrive, check into your hotel and have some free time. In the early afternoon, you will meet a highly qualified guide and begin a tour of the city’s historical sites. The first stop will be Chellah, followed by the Oudayas Kasbah, which includes the Oudayas Palace and its surrounding Andalusian gardens. We will also visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum, which contains the tombs of Moroccan kings Mohamed V and Hassan II. Additionally, you will see the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Hassan Tower, a minaret of an unfinished mosque that was intended to be the largest in the world. Later, return to your hotel.
Day 4 – Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
This morning, you will travel to Fes, making stops in Meknes and Volubilis along the way. Meknes is one of Morocco’s royal cities, known for its prosperity during the 17th century under the rule of Sultan Molay Ismail. We will see the Bab el Mansour, a beautiful gate in the city, as well as the stables and granaries of the king’s army. Next, visit Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with well-preserved ruins that were excavated in the early 20th century. From there, you continue on through the countryside to Fes, a city located in the hills.
Day 5 – Fes
Today start a tour of Fez, the second largest city in Morocco. A certified English-speaking guide will show you both the old part of the city, known as Fes El Bali, and the new part, called Fes Jdid. Begin at the Bab Boujlloud gate and visit the Bou Inania Medrassa, a beautiful example of Marinid architecture built in the 14th century. You will also visit En-Nejjarine Square, known for its caravanserai (foundouks) and the Nejjarine fountain, as well as Es-Seffarine Square, the coppersmith square. You will walk through the tanners’ quarter and the Andalusian quarter, with its mosque and medersa. In the afternoon, visit the royal palace of the late 19th century, which is now a museum of traditional art, and also visit the Jewish quarter and see a 17th century synagogue. At the end of the trip, return to your hotel.
Day 6 –Fes – Ifrane – Beni-Mellal – Marrakech
Today, you will travel from Beni-Mellal to Marrakech, passing through Khenifra and the middle Atlas region. You will stop in Immouzer du Kander and Ifrane before continuing on to Marrakech. During the journey, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a moment of relaxation and lunch (at your own expense) in Beni-Mellal.
Day 7 – Marrakech
Today you will explore the rich history and culture of Marrakech, a city that has been the capital of the Maghreb for centuries. Our tour will begin at the Koutoubia Mosque, a 12th century architectural site with a 69-meter-tall minaret that is the iconic symbol of Marrakech and a prime example of Islamic religious structure in North Africa. Proceed then through the historical Bab Agnaou gate to the Saadian dynasty tombs, which date back to the 17th century and are decorated with carved plaster and serve as the burial site for the Saadian family. You will also walk through the 12th-century Kasbah, visit the Jewish quarter and the oldest functioning synagogue in Morocco, and tour the 19th century Bahia palace to see the beautiful work of local artisans on wood and plaster. In the afternoon, you will venture away from the usual tourist areas and experience the everyday life of the people in the medina, visiting food markets, bakeries, hammams, and fountains, and strolling through the colorful Souks filled with tinsmiths, dyers, herbalists, and more. The tour will conclude at the famous Djemaa El Fna square, the largest square in North Africa where locals gather to watch musicians, snake charmers, acrobats, and other performers.
Day 8 – Marrakech
Today you will have a leisurely morning in Marrakech, starting with a visit to the Menara Gardens, either by a car or a horse carriage, a beautiful botanical garden located within the city. Then head to the Majorelle Gardens, a stunning garden created by French architect Jacques Majorelle. The garden is home to plants from all five continents and has been open to the public since 1947. It has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent since 1980. You will have 45 minutes to explore the gardens before returning to our hotel for the remainder of the afternoon. The rest of the day will be at leisure.
Day 9 –Depart Marrakech
Today you will be transferred to Marrakech Airport in time for your departure flight. comeback soon 🙂
